The Town of Amherstburg is located in Southwestern Ontario, approximately 30 kilometers southwest of the City of Windsor and is one of seven lower‐tier municipalities in the County of Essex. The current population of The Town of Amherstburg is just over 23,500. The Town of Amherstburg, Ontario (the “Town”) will be building a new fire station. The Fire Operations will move from its current location at 271 Sandwich St. S. and Fire Station 3 from its current location at 6744 Concession Rd 6 S, to the new location at the northwest corner of the Libro Centre grounds located at 3295 Meloche Road. The Town is pre-qualifying the General Contractor to provide all necessary labour, materials, equipment, services and other related expenses for the construction of the new fire station. The new Amherstburg Fire Hall will be a single storey building with a building area of approximately 1650 m2 and a mezzanine area of approximately 165 m2. The facility will include (4) four double fire bays, administrative offices, and various support areas such as an ECO/Training center, kitchen, dormitories, workshop, fitness area, washroom/shower facilities, etc. The building is contemplated as a steel structure with sloped roofs cladded with brick and metal siding. The site plan will also include a parking lot, a training area, stormwater management facility, etc. |
