The Town of Amherstburg is located in Southwestern Ontario, approximately 30 kilometers southwest of the City of Windsor and is one of seven lower‐tier municipalities in the County of Essex. The current population of the Town of Amherstburg is just over 21,000.

Edgewater Lagoons are located east of Front Road (County Road 20) to the north of Middle Side Road (County Road 10) in the Town of Amherstburg.

The work consists generally of the supplying of all materials, labour and equipment for the decommissioning of the Edgewater Lagoons facility. Included in these works will be the construction of a new Wet Weather Storage Cell and forcemain extension for the sanitary overflow, as well as the naturalization of the remaining lagoons to convert them into a wetland/park space facility.
